Lost Disney Character Returns
...And Gets Some Jeans

Oswald1Oswald The Lucky Rabbit is back!
Who?
Oswald was created by Walt Disney at Universal Studios in the 1920s, and when Walt eventually left, the then immensely popular character stayed behind, soon to be eclipsed by a similarly attired rodent and his friends as Disney started his own studio.
Dormant here for years, Oswald had apparently become something of a cult character in Japan, but finally made his way into the Disney fold in 2006 as part of a complicated deal between Disney and NBC Universal involving a network - switching sportscaster, and now he is being reintroduced, looking much as he did about 80 years ago. Last year, he met up with none other than Comme des Garçons, but starting tomorrow June 13, Lucky Brand Jeans (Get it? Lucky for Lucky) will be relaunching Oswald in the U.S. with a series of T-shirts featuring the feisty bunny with vintage versions of his newfound Disney family soon to follow.
Do we need another cartoon character on a T-shirt - especially from Disney? Well, the cynical can stay home. We are strangely charmed by the return of Mickey and Donald's long lost ancestor, especially when he's got his boxing gloves on, as if he's ready to take on that other wascally wabbit at a moment's notice.
