The collaborations keep coming at Louis Vuitton.
Thought the venerable brand's creative director, Marc Jacobs, has hinted that the pace of guest designer stints has gotten out of hand, Vuitton has tapped one of his muses and best pals, Sofia Coppola, to design a collection of handbags and shoes. The line will launch in Japan, but unlike the recent highly exclusive Comme des Garçons project, it will ultimately roll out worldwide.
Perhaps Jacobs felt that since collaborations are an inevitability these days, he might as well keep within his own circle whenever possible. Coppola has also been appearing in Louis Vuitton's "Core Values" advertising campaign with her father Francis Ford Coppola. Her own personal style is so closely tied in with Jacobs' look, that it will be interesting to see what she comes up with that is differentiated from the main LV collection.
