Gilt Groupe has become a phenomenon in since its introduction in 2007, where customers maniacally log on every day at noon in search of another irresistible designer bargain. For many, however, it's been a browsing experience since even 70% off some designer clothes still leaves a huge price tag.
A remedy will come next month, as the site expands to turn those vicarious shoppers into paying customers. Today's Times reports that Gilt Fuse will focus on the less expensive, but still desirable bridge and contemporary labels that you might find at Barneys Co-op or Scoop. Designers will reportedly include the likes of Diesel, C&C, Generra and Laundry at prices in the $75 to $150 range.
