Manolo Blahnik Kicks Off The Heavy Hitter Sale Season With Oscar De La Renta, Rebecca Minkoff, Elie Tahari, The Row & More

For anyone holding out for the big Sample Sale season to start, it's here.
As per the usual protocol, the MANOLO BLAHNIK Sample Sale —the Godmother of New York Sample Sales— has been announced at the last minute. It begins tomorrow in its usual location at the Warwick Hotel. We are told that at 10 AM tomorrow the 25th, the VIP event will be opened to the public for as long as the merchandise lasts which is usually sometime in the mid-afternoon.

Blahnik generell signals the start of a crush os sales that proceeds over the next couple of months. While sample sales never really end in New York, this is the beginning of the peak season. Schedule accordingly.

Earlier this week, contemporary powerhouse REBECCA MINKOFF kicked off her seasonal bash at 260SampleSale's NoMad flagship on Fifth Avenue. Look for tables full of handbags and racks of shoes. Typically, there is also a small selection of URI MINKOFF men's shoes and accessories as well. Generally replenishments come throughout the week, but crowds usually remain consistent. Sho through Sunday.

Tuesday brings OSCAR de la RENTA, still a coveted label among classic American designer apparel. Look for all the luxury and glamour at prices that will still be an investment even at deep discounts. Still, for fans, it will be a can't miss sale and promises a bit of men's and children's wear amongst the more plentiful shoes, bridal wear and, of course, luxury ready-to-wear. Runs through Sunday in Soho.

The Garment District's popular outlet Clothingline is also presenting another sterling American heritage label, although one that has seen some rocky times with a four day HALSTON HERITAGE sale. While the brand's days as a go-to for stars and socialites are long gone, the contemporary Heritage line has become a reliable resource for smart clothes with at least a hint of its namesake's sleek style. Shop through Friday.

If you don't have the patience for the epic line outside the Blahnik sale on Wednesday, head west to Soiffer Haskin for an ELIE TAHARI blowout featuring the full assortment of contemporary apparel and accessories. This sale runs through Sunday, and as is usual for this venue, expect to check pretty much everything you bring with you.

Finally, Saturday brings one more seasonal event that fans have been saving up for when THE ROW takes over the fifth floor of the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. Look for deep savings on deceptively sleek and simple apparel in sumptuous materials form the Olsen sisters. Shoppers will have four days through Tuesday to shop.

That's not all. JONATHAN ADLER and WHITE + WARREN are also expected to draw crowds this week. Next week promises another cavalcade of coveted labels starting with Paul Smith, The Kooples and Zadig & Voltaire. Keep an eye on our SALE ROLL sidebar at left for details including hours and locations as well as any late-breaking events.
