Marc Jacobs Specials Of The Month: Political Edition

Img_0911"Why do we keep writing about Marc Jacobs?", you may ask. Besides his status as America's leading designer, it's because he entertains us so. And, no, they are sadly not paying me to do it. Now that the Rufus Wainwright moment has passed, Marc & co. have wasted no time in following up with a whole new set of inexpensive charity merchandise, this time with a decidedly political bent, which you will see after the jump.

Al Gore is the hero du jour today. The Ts are $20 as usual (we're not quite sure what ketsunoana means). The tote and, if you must, the trucker hat are $15. All proceeds go to The Climate Project, a non-profit organization devoted to creating the opportunity to move our nation to act to reverse the growing crisis of global warming. Jacobs is obviously unafraid of wearing his politics on his sleeve or, in this case, his scaffolding. We're willing to bet he is the only major American designer willing to do a Gay Pride window. Admittedly, this is not much of a stretch in the West Village, but he did it in L.A. as well so he gets points for conviction, while Ralph Lauren's three storefronts down the street remain their predictable selves.
