UPPER WEST SIDE TJ'S WATCH:

Wood Paneling & New Hires Appear
At Trader Joe's On Broadway

InsideTJsUWS
Here's a peek inside the construction at the  upcoming Trader Joe's  store on Broadway and 72nd Street. It looks like the store will be mostly underground, but the signature wood paneling being installed at the entrance is a promising sign that the store may open sooner than we had expected (and we have been watching this one closely). So far, no date has been set, but a better indicator that the store will be ready to accept customers in a few months is that the chain has begun hiring workers for the location. Applications are being accepted around the corner form the construction site, marked by a long line of hopefuls snaked down west 72nd street. Now that the new Sixth Avenue TJ's has corrected most of the things that make shopping at the 14th Street location a miserable experience, we can only imagine what may be in store for us uptown.
