Valentino X GAP To Stay In Europe

Would a designer collaboration collection from Valentino get you to shop at the Gap? If the answer is yes, then you would probably save money by visiting a Valentino boutique because it will cost you at least the price of a transatlantic airline ticket. To celebrate its entry into the Italian market, the venerable house's designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli will create a capsule collection that will be sold at the iconic American chain's newest flagship when it opens in Milan this November. The flagship in London and an upcoming location in Rome will also have the line as well as Dover Street Market in London and, yes, of course, Colette in Paris, but don't plan to line up outside the Gap's Fifth Avenue concept store just yet. According to WWD, there are no plans to distribute the collection in the U.S. (Insert disgruntled frown here.)

Since the line doesn't come out until November, you may have some time to arrange a scheme to get the collection for yourself, and, come to think of it, a flight to Rome might still be less expensive than a Valentino dress these days.
