Chelsea's 202 Ending This Weekend +
Border's Shutting 3 Manhattan Stores

As long expected, Border's has filed for bankruptcy, and will be closing as much as 30% of its stores including three NYC locations. The units at 57th Street and Park Avenue, on Second Avenue in Kips Bay as well as on Broadway in the Financial District will soon be no more according to the company's filing. As far as anyone can tell, the Penn Plaza and Columbus Circle locations will remain open ...for now. The next question is what will take the former stores' places. Will Park Avenue get a more glamorous tenant for a difficult space? Will Kips Bay get another big box chain in it s strip-mall like development? Will it be Walmart?

In somewhat sadder news, London designer Nicole Farhi's restaurant/boutique 202 will be closing this weekend. Racked tells us that the last day for the restaurant will be Friday, while the store will close after Saturday. Naturally, there is a bonanza of a clearance sale going on, but the store, which had become something of a neighborhood favorite among many of the nearby fashion businesses, will be missed.

Last Day to Shop at 202 Cafe, Saturday; Last Day to Eat, Friday (Racked)
