The Barneys Warehouse Sale is a whole month away, but for those of you who have always wanted to visit the event but haven't been able to because you live clear across the country or suffer from some other minor inconvenience, there's hope. This season, the fine folks at Barneys have informed The Shophound that the Warehouse Sale will also be online. Sign up for email alerts, and Barneys will give you a day of exclusive preview shopping before the the general public is allowed access. Of course, the regular warehouse we have all come to know and bitch about will be taking place at its usual 17th Street location from August 23rd through September 3rd (not including any possible extensions like those that have happened in both of the past seasons since it was shortened from its traditional two-week run).
It looks like Barneys may have taken a hint from Steven Alan who, earlier this year, canceled his super-popular Tribeca sample and clearance sale in favor of doing the whole thing online. If this works out for Barneys, will it be another reason for them to ultimately do the same?
