Crumpler's Beer for Bags Returns Today

BeerforBagsatCrumpler
It's been a while since we have seen one of retail's most whimsical promotional events here in New York. Rugged Aussie accessory brand Crumpler is starting it's BEER for BAGS promotion for the third time today through Sunday at its Spring Street store in NoLita. The last time we saw this event was in 2007, so let us refresh our readers on the concept. Basically, you bring a bunch of beers to Crumpler and exchange them for a smart new backpack, messenger bag, duffel or another item. Sounds simple, but don't go thinking you can just bring a six-pack of Bud at the bodega and walk away with a nice new bag. Different beers have different values correlating to their levels of quality and exclusivity. For example, if you want a new Large Skivvy messenger bag (retail value $130), you will have to schlepp 2 case of Pacifico plus a bag of limes. 2 Cases of Brooklyn Lager will get you a Private Zoo backpack ($85), and so on. See the Crumpler Beer Exchange for the full breakdown of what's available, and then start trading. What's the upshot for hauling beer to the store? An exclusive invite to the Closing Party on Sunday evening at a secret Brooklyn location where you will have the opportunity to drink up all the beer you just traded away. Sounds like you will come out ahead, and maybe a little bit drunk.

Crumpler Beer For Bags through Sunday July 21 at 45 Spring Street between Mulberry & Mott Streets, NoLita
