It has been a late entry to the U.S. online flash sale scene, but the company that started it all, Vente-Privee, has settled in nicely by offering only a few sales a day, but, typically, only those from very high-end vendors. As with any retail venture, excess merchandise will pile up, and Vente-Privee is finally staging a walk-in clearance sale for those looking for a super-bargain and don't want to wait to have it shipped. Starting next Tuesday at Clothingline on West 36th Street, a host of designer labels will be included including Elizabeth & James, Halston, Guess, Be & D, Vera Wang, Erin Fetherston, L*Space, Paul & Joe, Catherine Malandrino, Just Cavalli, and more to be discovered. So far, they ahve only announced women's brands, though the site also covers Menswear and Home furnishings. We will have to wait until next week to see exactly what is included. Many of us remember that rival Gilt Groupe started holding small clearance events at various locations before they became a ticketed extravaganza event, so we would recommend getting in on this early.
