Welcome to one of the most packed Sample Sale weeks we have seen this year.
The season is kicking in big time now, so plan your schedules carefully. This week brings several big events, including the bittersweet first and possibly last sample sale from REED KRAKOFF before he retools and repositions his company. It officially starts today at 260 Sample Sale's SoHo space on Wooster Street, and it is starting with 75% Off discounts that are likely to grow as the week progresses.
There's plenty more staring today including at ELIZABETH and JAMES 260 Fifth Avenue running through Sunday which always pulls a big crowd for the Olsen Twins' popular contemporary label.
Men in the market for classic suiting will be heading to Soifer Haskin's West Midtown space for the seasonal HICKEY FREEMAN sale. Look for all things sartorial plus the popular golfwear line from the eternally revamping brand now under the creative direction of up-and-coming designer David Hart.
Officially opening to the public on tomorrow the 13th, is the U.S. Sample Sale debut of two Belgian designers who have fiercely loyal cult followings. The perennially Patti Smith inspired ANN DEMEULEMEESTER and Tilda Swinton fave HAIDER ACKERMANN will be sharing C21 Edition downtown through Friday. VIPs have been shopping since yesterday, so you have a good chance of slipping in early if you want to check it out today.
Wednesday also brings a longtime high fashion Sample Sale favorite as AEFFE USA opens its West 56th Street showroom featuring MOSCHINOALBERTA FERRETTIEMANUEL UNGARO collections along with PHILOSPHY, CEDRIC CHARLIER, FUZZI and JPG SOLEIL. Plan to get up early and line up for this one.
If you are sticking downtown, Prabal Gurung's ICB sportswear label has moved its sample sale from the garment district to Crosby Street in SoHo also starting on Wednesday through Friday.
Chelsea Market denizens will get the second SFERRA Sample Sale in a few weeks as the luxurious Italian Bed and Bath label seems to be maintaining a two-sale-per-season schedule these days. Not complaining. You can never have too may nice sheets.
Thursday is another big shoe day as MANOLO BLAHNIK's sale, moved form last week, finally gets under way for one day only at the Warwick Hotel. You know the drill. Be patient and expect a wait. This time, hours are murky, so Manolo fanatics may want to clear the day.
Downtowners will be lining up at LOEFFLER RANDALL's sale which gives them a little more time to shop through Saturday at 150 Wooster Street.
For fashion fans, BAND OF OUTSIDERS is holding its first sample sale in its SoHo boutique starting Thursday for three days. Look for stock and samples and a big, big crowd for the cult favorite.
While you are downtown, you might as well head to The News Showroom on Broadway and pick up some choice pieces from SACAITIM COPPENSPUBLIC SCHOOL and plenty more designers including 6397, ANNIEL, CHEAP MONDAY, CLU,COMMON PROJECTS, DESTIN, FOLK, LONG JOURNEY, OFFICINE GENERALE and more.
If you aren't completely tapped out by Saturday the 15th, then head over to the TOURNEAU Time Machine on 57th Street for their Customer Appreciation Event which offers rare discounts of 30% to 70% Off retail from brands ranging from the exclusive like Audemars Piguet and Girard Perregaux to the somewhat more accessible brands like Gucci and Technomarine. It's not one to miss if you are a watch fanatic.

Of course, that's not all by a long shot. There are also great sales from VERONICA BEARDBONPOINTCARDIGAN and MAGASCHONI happening this week and probably some late breaking events that we don't even know about yet. Then there's next week which looks equally promising featuring 3.1 Phillip Lim, James Perse, Nancy Gonzalez and more. Keep an eye on our SALE ROLL sidebar at left for all the details and other late-breaking sale information.
