Michael Bastian & Rebecca Taylor Sell Their Samples, But It's Herschel Supply Co. That Will Bring The Crazy Lines

Our curated list of sample sales are always found in our SALE ROLL sidebar at left, but as the sale season heads toward its peak, it can be a lot to scroll through. Here are a few highlights you probably won't want to miss for the week:

TUESDAY JUNE 7,
Today's big opening is from popular contemporary designer REBECCA TAYLOR who faithfully returns to 260 Fifth Avenue today through Saturday with her spring sale. As with all of the contemporary collections, expect an eager line of shoppers for the first few hours. Also opening today, California casual wear brands  SPLENDID and ELLA MOSS are taking up residence in the garment district for a rare three-day-sale on the east coast. The men's Splendid Mills label will also be included through Thursday.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 8
On Wednesday, TOCCA completes its sale requirements for the season. We have already seen its popular candles and fragrances hit the tables, and not it's time for the original dress collection to have its moment. The Flatiron/NoMad showroom will be open for two days through Thursday offering discounts just in time for spring parties and weddings. Also on Wednesday, well-priced Swedish denim and sportswear label CHEAP MONDAY will have its own one-day sale in SoHo with its entire product offerings priced from $5 to $20. Get there early.

THURSDAY JUNE 9
Shophound fave MICHAEL BASTIAN will once again be opening his West Chelsea showroom through the weekend starting on Thursday. His collection of classics always include some unexpected touches among the luxury, and, as he has launched a capsule women's collection this year, there might possibly be a few things scaled for the ladies in the mix. Look for a combo of slim fitting samples with some stock. The other big Thursday event will be the two-day sale from HERSCHEL SUPPLY Co. set for a storefront just south of Times Square. Herschel's already well-priced backpacks are ubiquitous, and while this sale took place quietly in a Lower East Side bar just a couple of years ago, last year it generated lines that wrapped around the block for the entire time. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are willing to put in the time for backpack bargains, then knock yourselves out.

SATURDAY JUNE 11
Soiffer-Haskin is in the middle of its usual impressive run of luxury sales, and on Saturday, the reliably opulent ESCADA will take up residence for a five day sale that will keep its fans appropriately attired.

As is expected this time of year, sales will appear at the last minute with little notice, so keep checking the sidebar for new additions. next week, brace yourselves for contemporary powerhouse Alice & Olivia plus the first off-site sale from local favorite Steven Alan.
